Now Healthcare Group, a healthcare technology company operating the Now GP mobile app, has achieved successful expansion into the Asian healthcare market. The app, which allows patients to consult with licensed general practitioners via their smartphones, achieved a significant milestone by conducting remote consultations with a patient during a business trip in Hong Kong.
Now GP holds full authorization from UK authorities to provide patients with the same level of medical care they would receive from their local doctor, including the issuance of private prescriptions.
Earlier this year, the app underwent a rebranding, transitioning from Dr Now to Now GP.
The mobile healthcare industry is experiencing remarkable growth, with competitors such as PushDoctor, Babylon, and Doctor on Demand securing a combined total of $74 million in venture funding. When it comes to navigating language barriers and healthcare regulations while traveling, accessing basic or emergency healthcare can be challenging. Now GP addresses this issue by allowing individuals to connect with a doctor through video consultations within a matter of hours.
