Specialist composite manufacturer, Permali Gloucester, has secured a significant contract in the private sector to supply composite ballistic armor panels. This contract, in collaboration with engineering firm SC Group, involves providing specialized ballistic materials for the Supacat military vehicle.
Ben Gaffney, Deputy Head of New Programmes at Supacat, expressed his confidence in Permali: “Permali’s comprehensive bid response, together with their at-risk testing and engineering design activity, gave us the requisite levels of confidence to place the order. We’re looking forward to working with Permali to deliver this exciting new addition to the HMT vehicle offering.”
This development marks a significant achievement for the British manufacturing industry. Earlier this month, Permali secured a separate £15 million contract to support the development of the AJAX vehicle for the British Army. These contracts not only strengthen job security, preserving 34 jobs, but also facilitate internal research and development, accompanied by a £1 million investment in equipment.
