A recent survey focused on the contracting workforce’s views regarding the EU referendum reveals that just under half of all contractors and freelance workers express a desire to remain within the EU. A significant 64% of respondents are concerned that a Brexit could have adverse effects on their job prospects and the overall financial stability of the country.
The research, conducted by insurance specialist KingsBridge, encompassed 25,000 of their clients, including contractors, freelancers, and self-employed individuals across the nation. This vital workforce, comprising nearly 2 million contractors and freelancers, plays a crucial role in driving growth within the UK economy.
Although a noticeable gap exists between those favoring “remain” and “leave,” the undecided 12% could potentially influence the referendum’s outcome. Regardless of the final decision, it is evident that contractors exhibit a high level of confidence in their skills, and their services are expected to remain in demand, irrespective of whether the UK chooses to stay “In” or opt for “Out.”
