Renowned Indian actors Kirti Kulhari and Jim Sarbh are set to lead the cast in Harsh Mahadeshwar’s directorial debut, “Sach is Life.”
Penned and helmed by Mahadeshwar, a veteran in the music video realm, “Sach is Life” draws its inspiration from the true story of the Munshi family. The film will chronicle the unwavering journey of a dedicated couple who are resolute in providing their three-year-old son, afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the life he rightfully deserves, despite his condition.
Kirti Kulhari, celebrated for her roles in Prime Video’s “Four More Shots Please” and Disney+ Hotstar’s “Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors,” will play a pivotal role, alongside Jim Sarbh, who recently garnered an International Emmy Best Actor nomination for his performance in SonyLIV’s “Rocket Boys.”
Produced by Romila Saraf Bhat and Rahul Bhat of New Jersey-based Red Bison Productions, known for their work on “Bhaag Bawre Aandhi Aayi,” “Sach is Life” is primed to commence principal photography in April 2024. The film’s shooting locations span Kashmir, New Delhi, New Orleans, New Jersey, and New York.
Mahadeshwar expressed his primary objective as translating the philosophical conflicts and worldviews of the central characters into a candid and sincere feature for the screen.
Kirti Kulhari shared her excitement about the film’s themes, describing it as a narrative that unleashes the “power of unconditional love, celebrates the human spirit, and emphasizes the significance of hope.” She also expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with a U.S. crew to bring this Indian story to life on the global stage.
Jim Sarbh characterized “Sach is Life” as an “extremely heartwarming and inspirational story of resilience, dedication, and belief,” underscoring the emotional resonance of a family united in helping one of their own attain their dreams.
